Samina Peerzada is an actress, director and producer from Pakistan. She has been in Bollywood for the past 10 years, doing such films as “Chak De! India “and” Chak De! Pakistan.” Her filmography spans over two decades, and her most popular roles have been in the romance genre, where she has appeared in “A Dog’s Life,” “My Name Is Khan,” “I See Love,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream II” and “A Good Woman Done Wrong.”

As a film actress in Pakistan, Samina Peerzada has mostly acted in local language movies. Her first notable Pakistani role was in the hit movie “Chak De! Pakistan” in 1995, and she continued to act throughout the next decade, appearing in a number of popular movies including “Mazhabiye Kita Akbar” and “Chak De! Pakistan.”

After a few years active on screen in Pakistan TV, Samina Peerzada turned to writing, penning a number of novels that were later turned into television serials. Her first novel, the crime-thriller “Gangs of Lahore” was released in 1997. Two more novels that she wrote during her career were “Chak De! Pakistan” and “I See Love.” These two novels then went on to spawn the successful TV serials “Chak De! Pakistan” and “I See Love.”

Samina Peerzada has been nominated for a number of awards, most notably the Satellite Awards’ Best Actress category in 1999 for her contribution to the television industry through her various roles and her contributions to our society and our lives as an actress. She is probably best known to US audiences by her appearances on “Fantasy Island,” an animated series which went on to become one of the biggest successes of the decade. In this series, Samina played the role of “Furja” – a deadly” Enchantress” who transforms herself into a human being after being cursed by the evil Vizir (uated to a dragon-like figure) Alauddin Khan. She teamed up with the likes of blue-eyed blonde Yaphet Kotto, who played the lead role of “Vizi,” and Australian actor Bruce Willis, who played the role of “Kool”. Samina’s career was notable not only because of her hit television programs but also because of her numerous accolades and awards for being a popular and accomplished actress in Pakistani and Indian theaters.

Samina’s last major acting role was in the award-winning film “Mana,” which went on to become one of the most successful movies of all time in Pakistan and India. It was a great deal of money and a break for Pakistani actresses since they were not exactly sure how popular any film in Pakistan or India could be. But, it was a box office hit that made Samina and Ayus Anand a name in Hollywood. Most American viewers got to know about Samina through the work of Richard Simons and her two co-stars, Ayus Anand and Kamal Amrohi.

There are a long list of Samina Peerzada’s television dramas which made her a name in Hollywood. However, some of her lesser known works still have fans all over the world. Her performance as the evil enchantress in the movie “Mansoor” which was a remake of the much loved Bahar Benazir movie, is something that every Pakistani woman hopes to see in their lifetime.
