Marina Khan is an Indian screenwriter, producer and actress. She was among the popular actresses of the 1980s. Her first film in her career was Welcome. After that she worked on multiple films, which saw release in the US, UK and Malaysia. Her films include Doraama, Hooligan Gharana, Jodha Akbar, Hiring Katti and Haa Jazeen Tehma.

Marina Khan was born in Peshawar, Pakistan and grew up in Karachi. She is described as having broad shoulders and brown eyes. Her face has a natural beauty, which makes her look like an everyday woman. She is described as being beautiful, thin, charming and sexy throughout her early life, which made her one of the more popular film actresses in the mid ’60s.

She lived in the slums of Quaidabad, Pakistan and attended secondary school before joining the theatre world. She is said to have joined the theatre because of her passion for performing. She acted in some local plays and later went to the prestigious Raffles Commercial School in Delhi. In the late 1960s, she left India to pursue a career in Hollywood. She earned a reputation for her strong performances and her onscreen persona, which led to her becoming one of the favourite actresses of Indian cinema.

She then starred in three more films in Pakistan, including Baahubali, before moving on to Hollywood. In the late sixties, Marina Khan’s name became synonymous with Indian screen acting, after appearing in some popular television serials, most notably, Mankatha, featuring Anjum Anand.

She continued to work steadily on her acting until the early seventies, when she completed two more films – Koolhaas and Zabar Bal Days. Then, things began to change for Marina Khan, as she found it harder to get roles on television. Her limited action roles kept her away from the limelight, but she did make some guest appearances on television shows. She did not enjoy her success and appeared in a number of different television shows, most notably, EastEnders and MIB.

It was around the time of her marriage to Sayyed Mina that Marina Khan began to receive wider roles on Pakistani television. She finally achieved success with a role in the film, Apnecular. After that, Khan appeared in a number of high budget movies and also participated in television serials. Finally, she returned to her acting roots, working with Bollywood to produce several successful films in the eighties, including Humko Dirie!
