Jade Rasif is a well-known Singaporean actress who has appeared in more than 80 films. Born in 1913, Jade Rasif was named after the seventh king of Singapore, who was also the first Asian king to visit Singapore. Jade was one of six children of the royal family of Ayutthaya. Her mother served as a teacher, while her father worked as a merchant and later became a judge.
Jade was one of three children born to Ayutthaya royalty. She is described as being very pretty during her early years. When Jade was just three years old, her mother died of a heart attack, which came just months before Jade was born. Jade Rasif is not only an acclaimed Singaporean actress but has also been nominated for the Academy Awards. Her most popular role to date has been in the film “Singapore: Through the Wormhole,” in which she played the role of Ng Kah Fock, a woman forced into a life of slavery on Raffles Building. Jade then went on to play the lead role in the musical “When the Saints Go Marching in,” opposite Yoon Chee Hye. Jade Rasif is best known for playing female characters in high society movies such as those shown in the remake of The Night Watch in 2021 and for her role as the first runner-up in the newspaper front page of Singles’ Today with Zwee Kamal. While Jade Rasif is not the first Asian female actor to receive an award for Best Leading Female Role, she is certainly one of the more notable of Asian actresses ever.
Jade began to take note of her Asian roots when she was still very young. She made mention of the Thai Royal Family in her essays and student papers and at the University of Michigan. While pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Jade began to network with Thai Lawyers and learned enough about Thai law so that she could research it on her own. She has continued to learn about Thai Law and is now doing research and writing on the subject. Jade has even become particularly interested in using the internet to empower women in other countries. She has used her exposure to social media to write blogs and articles on Thai and Singaporean women’s empowerment; and, as of late, she has used her knowledge about online social networking to launch a new website, called “The Power of Conversational Hypnosis.”
Jade has not always held a high profile in the public eye, but she has certainly been able to achieve some measure of success in her career. She is currently married to Ong Kian Soon, who happens to be the CEO of Singapore’s SingNet Communications Corporation. The couple own and run their own restaurant, called OiOi, which has four restaurants located in Singapore and one each in Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Jade’s net worth is estimated at around two and a half million dollars.
Jade Rasif is also known for her excellent singing ability. Her album “Kampai” was recently released and is number twenty on the chart for the best selling independent albums in Australia. Jade is also popular as a host on Singapore talk radio talk shows. She has also released several books of poetry that have been immensely successful, including one entitled “Singapore and I.” Jade Rasif is also well known within the martial arts circles of Singapore as a popular fitness instructor and yoga teacher. Jade Rasif has an array of professional interests and accomplishments that she can be proud of, and she seems to take her job very seriously.
