Yang Libing is a late Singaporean actress, best known for her roles in martial arts films. She went to school in London before getting a role in one of her early plays. Yang Libing grew up in Singapore and learned English at school there. After a period in Hollywood, Yang moved back to Singapore and has been acting ever since.

Yang Libing was a late bloomer in her acting career. She had a few small roles in films that failed to do well at the box office. However, in the mid eighties she began to have a string of good performances, which earned her the attention of a number of Hollywood producers and directors. Yang Libing is also married to musician Shimlaetimes, whom she met when she was just 14 years old. They have two children, a son named Lim Si and a daughter named Chong Minh. She has played the role of mother in a number of family movies. She is married to musician Shimlaetimes’ father, Lim Si Hing, and is described as a loving wife and mother. Her most famous role is that of the evil mistress in the movie House of Flying Daggers.

Yang Libing attended the Institute of Arts. After that she went on to become a member of the independent film production company Image Asia Entertainment where she acted in such films as Space franchise and Hong Kong action flick Hong Kong Noir. She went on to act in independent movies such as No Longer a Stranger, Come What You Want and The Replacements. Aside from acting, Yang Libing is also known for painting, writing and drawing.
