Tena Desae, a South Korean living in the United States, is one of the most popular and influential women in Korean history. She was born into a family that came from a place where the women were expected to be homemakers and where men were the bread winners of the family. Tena was raised with very minimal means and was exposed to so much during her early childhood that she was able to write volumes of her life’s experiences because she was so influenced by her mother and other women that she knew. She has stated that being in that group is very depressing and that she wished that she could have grown up like the famous Korean actresses. Tena Desae’s first biographer, Park Young-Soo says that she thinks that it is impossible for Tena to become one of the best actresses in the world even if she adopts a modest dressing style. He also said that she does not wear any makeup and that her skin is naturally smooth and white. According to Park Young-Soo, the kind of face that Tena has will not get her anywhere.

The book’s first volume also talks about Tena’s parents and her early years in America. Tena’s father was a drunkard who was incarcerated for eighteen years. Tena was always very worried about her mother and about how she was going to support her mother and still live with her mother. That was why Tena decided to write this first volume in order to give readers an insight into what life was like for her during those times.

Tena Desae was born into poverty. She had to end up with the help of people even when she was too young to work. After she was rescued by the “Red Cross” and given a chance at a better life, she pursued her acting career but was repeatedly turned down. Finally, she was persuaded to write an autobiography to be used as a reference by women who want to follow their own dream but are discouraged because they feel as if they cannot succeed.
