Real Name Perizaad Zorabian, she was born in a small village in India called Srinagar. She was an orphan and at the age of sixteen was reported to have joined the Army, which made her one of the youngest women to attain a degree of military rank. Later in life she was called Perizaad Zorabian by her fans who were so impressed by her beauty that they inspired her to pursue an acting career. After this she appeared in various movies and went on to become an actress in television serials and plays. Perizaad Zorabian was married to Rajiv Gandhi and was with him when he was assassinated. She was also the mother of his two children. Rajiv Gandhi gave her martial arts training and she pursued it diligently. Perizaad Zorabian’s life was full of happiness and laughter, but it ended unfortunately when she was shot dead by Indian Army at the Kargil incident. There are many speculations as to what happened but according to media reports she was trying to get into the border when the army fired on her vehicle. The bullet hit her in the abdomen and the doctors initially could not do much for her and pronounced her dead on the scene. Some say that she died due to the bullet wounds caused by the bullet that missed her kidneys and liver and also a blood clot which resulted in her death. There were no signs of a struggle so Perizaad Zorabian must have fallen unconscious due to the impact of the bullet that killed her. Perizaad Zorabian had no identification on the day she was found dead in a coma in a hospital in New Delhi.

Perizaad Zorabian was the third of four children of Ashok Bedi, who was also from a prominent family in Delhi. Ashok Bedi worked for an international firm that made shoes and was very popular as a famous fashion designer of men’s wear. Perizaad Zorabian’s father was very much interested in making shoes and he would often visit other countries around the world to get the latest styles in men’s shoes.

It is believed that Perizaad Zorabian was the only daughter of Ashok Bedi and that her mother was his first wife who had two daughters named Satya and Priya. The name of the shoe maker’s mother is still unknown but we do know that she was a talented writer. Perizaad Zorabian’s dress size was noted to be very small, which is consistent with her smaller height. Perizaad Zorabian was the youngest of the five daughters of Ashok Bedi.
