Nikita Dutta Biography by India’s first female Prime Minister – Prem Kumar Mukherjee is a biographical book written by one of the most formidable leaders of our times – Prem Kumar Mukherjee. Like all biographies written about public figures, this one too takes a lot of time to unfold. Initially we are told how Nikita came to be known as PM – she was given the honour of being the first female leader of Independent India when her predecessor Indira Gandhi stepped down. Early Life and Career: Nikita Dutta was born at Purna Vihar, a small village in the middle of what was one of the biggest cattle drives in India. She was the first Hindu woman to hold the post of RSS Chief – before Subhas Chandra Bose came along. She was married to Jai Singh (son of Rajma), a Rajput king of Jaipur, on the occasion of her marriage to him. She had two daughters – Priya and Ritu. Her marriage to Mukherjee was completed after her marriage to Rajma. The birth of her youngest daughter, Ankita Dutta, from a previous marriage was annulled in her honor.

Early Years As a performer: The first glimpse of Nikita Dutta in the pages of any book about her life is always accompanied by her starring role in some popular Hindi movies made in Bollywood – including Kismet Kailash – Ashok Kumar and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. She also appeared in a few Hollywood movies made in India and even in one English movie, Manjishtha. She continued to act till the end of her life, even hanging out with her daughter Ankita Dutta in some of her final films. She finally retired from acting to concentrate on writing.

Married to Mukherjee: After her marriage to Mukherjee, Nikita Dutta moved to Ranchi (the capital of Himachal Pradesh) to be close to her daughter Ankita Dutta who was studying in a Girls’ School there. She took care of Ankita day in and day out, cooked for her and helped her in any way she could. It was this close relationship that led to the formation of the RSS. And later on, to the launch of the RSS in India.

After the launch of the RSS, the star visited the funeral of another prominent social leader of the state, Bikram Guru Premchand. She was given a warm welcome by the RSS workers and held a prayer session in the ashram where she was warmly welcomed by Bikram’s followers. The Bollywood debut of Nikita Dutta was kept a secret for several years but finally she got the starring role in the popular Raavanan movie of 2021, Manjishtha.

Popular Choice: After her marriage to Mukherjee, the actress started her busy schedule of movie tours and then started working as a news analyst. It was after that she thought of becoming a social worker. She joined the National Association for the Advancement of Social Equity (NASSE) and also joined the 2021 rocket gang which is considered to be the greatest Indian comedy team of all times. She was spotted along with Akshay Kumar in the sets of the Bond movies and went on to star in many other hilarious roles. She has been seen in almost all the best films till date and has accumulated a lot of mileage since her first film role.
