Helen is probably best known for her starring role as the glamorous, sultry Sadera in the award winning movie, Chicago. She has made eleven films since its release and more are in the pipeline. Her other credits include The Secret Life of Bees from the producers of The Sopranos and Bridesmaids. Helen has also appeared in some TV shows including CSI, Frasier, Family Guy, and Supergirl.
Helen is a highly respected dancer because of the roles she has played. Playing the spirited Sadera in Chicago, and her first encounter with her star husband, Ben Kingsley, is one of the best representations of how actors should act in order to carry off successful movies. While playing the character, Helen has gained both popularity and respect as a dancer. Her weight loss is another example of her dedication to her craft.
Helen began a personal journey when she was twenty-three years old. After having a child, she developed a severe case of bulimia treatment complications. In order to recover, she had to first lose weight. Helen is able to keep that weight off by practicing ballet in addition to keeping up with her weight loss efforts. As her weight loss progress continues, her biographer will be watching to see if she is able to maintain the success she’s had previously.
Helen does her best to remain positive while continuing her weight loss. Her cheerful disposition belies her diagnosis of being overweight. When asked what she enjoys most about being a dancer, Helen responds without hesitation, “The challenge.” Her enthusiasm for her work is also displayed in her blog at Michelle Helen’s Dance Blog.
