Vanessa Bell Calloway’s breakout film is probably American Viva Liza, which was first released in 1990. This is also where her love affair with dance began. She would perform throughout the duration of the play as a dancer and singer in what is quite possibly the best show ever put on stage, Inkwell. She would end up playing the lead role in this musical, becoming one of the best-known African American women of her time.
