Girija, better known by her real name Shruti, is an Indian political leader, television actor and actresses. Earlier, as an actress, she had been known for her major work in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies. Now, she is serving as spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its Karnataka contingent. More recently, she has taken up a major part in Hindi movie “Mankatha” starring Vijay and Anushka Shetty.

Girija is the sister of prominent Indian TV serials actor Vijay and his wife Preethi. However, it seems that she does not really like her famous sisters. In fact, she often refuses to acknowledge her relationship with her sisters. Although she portrays herself as the strong independent woman of the family, it is apparent that she has deep-rooted relationships with her sisters.

Shruti has been quoted as saying that once she decided to quit acting, people were surprised by her decision, but once she started sharing about her life story in her blog, things started taking a turn for the better.

Shruti was recently seen in an India Today show dressed casually and speaking about her mother’s recent death. It is evident that Shruti has not been able to manage the stress of her role as well as her troubled past.
