Preetika Rao was named after an actress, Preetika Rajasekhar the first female supermodel from India. Preetika started her career at age nineteen, when she appeared in a few ads for Z Magazine. Later in the decade, she went on to star in some very well-known films like Mankatha, Ayy Manjishtham, Apne, Kaal Bhairav, Panchami Matli Manali, Baahubali, Kannagi, Humko, Satya, etc. Preetika did not like Hindi films, as she felt that they portrayed women in a way which did not flatter them.
