After this, her parents sent her to a school called Ezhimala ashram, located at the foothills of the Nilgiri Mountains in Kerala, India. There, all the girls in the school were made to take an oath of chastity and obedience to their headmistress until they reached the age of twenty-one. Iniya did well and earned a good reputation at this school.

From that day, people began to know about Iniya’s story and she slowly disappeared from the world. However, she managed to produce a few films that gained her a steady film business and helped her establish herself as an actress in Bollywood. Her first few films like “Bhel ka Fazal” and “Chhota hai zal”, did not do well at the box office, but her last movie “Nanban” received great popularity and praise from critics and audiences alike and it eventually became one of the best selling movies of all times. Inya was finally recognized as a prominent personality in Indian cinema with the release of “Mankatha” in 1976. She continued to work in Bollywood and even appeared in a number of popular movies throughout the 1980s, such as “Chak De! China” and “Cholamandalam”.
