Ilene Hamann is an award winning and widely known professional athlete. She is the former Miss Universe and now a successful businesswoman with her own line of clothing. Ilene has been described as the “perfect athlete’s body” by Men’s Health. She began her career in football when she was a swimmer at the University of Southern California. She was one of the tallest and heaviest all-around athletes in the nation. Her athletic prowess came to light when she competed in the Miss Universe contest in 1996.

Ilene’s life is colorful and interesting in the biography of Ilene Hamann. She was born in Holland, the daughter of a Dutch mother and an American father. She was born in Cape Town, where she eventually lived until she emigrated to South Africa, where she grew up in Durban and for a short period of time in Hawaii. She has also lived in Canada and England.

Ilene’s most famous and popular film roles include playing the role of the lead character in the musical Hamilton which she originated. Her other notable works include the film’s Crazy Heart (winner of eight Academy Awards including Best Picture), The Perfect Score, and Billie Jean (winner of three Oscars). Her later roles include Invictus, August: No Limits, and Crazy Heart. Throughout her early life, Ilene experienced many ups and downs including working in a coal mine, being married twice and living in a war-torn country.

Ilene’s life ended when she was twenty years old and was married for the third time to a man named Jeffery Hamann. They had four children and grew up in south Africa. She was a good student and did fairly well throughout high school, but she felt that she would not pursue a degree as she felt it was too expensive. This is when her career really started as in the late nineteen sixties she began appearing in television commercials and small movies.

From these small roles, her talent began to grow and she began to gain notice as she was nominated for the role of the lead in the play Crazy Heart which was played by James Stewart. This lead role was followed by another successful play The Day That My Heart Quit Thatcher, which was loosely based on the true story of how the Peters family lost their homes and how their lives were changed by the kindness and sacrifice of a local woman named Ellen Hodgkins. Finally, she was cast as the lead in the play Invictus opposite Ed Harris, who was then famous for his role in The Deerhunter. These two performances made Ilene famous as she began to receive calls back to the theater from Hollywood with many different offers for different parts. She finally landed a role in the play The Perfect Pair, which was written by her husband, Dave Schramm.

Throughout the late nineteen sixties and the early nineteen seventies Ilene Hamann was a favorite on television and she was recognized for her roles on such shows as M.A.S.H., Everybody Loves Raymond, Dinner for Seven, I Love Lucy, Leave It to Beaver, Miami Dade County, Betrothed, Miami Beach, and more. In addition to her television appearances Ilene Hamann also appeared in a number of motion pictures including One Hundred Best Films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Who’s That Lady, and There’s Something About Mary. After leaving Hollywood, Ilene Hamann continued to act, however, she was unable to release any of her films due to the death of her husband. She was, however, able to continue acting in films directed by her husband as she began to learn more about the film industry. Later in life she decided to return to acting as she appeared in the film A Few Good Men. Ilene Hamann is an actress that has been well-known throughout her lifetime and one of the best known African American actresses of all time.
