Genelia D’Souza is an Indian movie actress and fashion model. She primarily appeared in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and other regional films. After gaining global popularity in a Parker Pen commercial by Amitabh Bachchan, Genelia started her acting career by appearing in the award-winning Hindi movie ‘Trolls’.

Genelia has been married to Abdulla Bandara Khoshroo since 1993 and they have two children. She has acted in some movies as herself and as a love interest for Abdulla. She has been nominated for a Film Farewell Award and has also won the Film Farewell Award at the Satellite Awards in London and the Artist Series at the Venice Film Festival. She is an active participant in various community and charitable organizations. As part of her management studies, she has been involved in various volunteering projects in Mumbai and is presently studying management studies with Bollywood’s Shri Ram Gopal Varma at the prestigious Film School of India.

Genelia was born in Mumbai and grew up in Bandra, Mumbai. She is one of the few South Indian actresses to have earned films across all genres in the big screen. Genelia D’Souza’s first major role was in the film ‘Khoa Phazak’ in 1997. She later went on to appear in ‘Mankatha’ in 1998, ‘Chak De! Bangalore’ in 1999, ‘Kurban’ in 2021, and ‘Shanzhak’ in 2021.

On the last day of October last year, Genelia D’Souza was found dead at her home in suburban Mumbai. An autopsy conducted on the deceased revealed that the actress had been suffocated to death due to strangulation and breathing complications. The results of the forensic report were submitted to the Mumbai Police on the date of the death. On novetmber of November last year, the Mumbai police arrested D’Souza’s former personal assistant, Laban M. Kulkarni, and his pregnant wife, Priya Paul, in connection with the death of Genelia D’Souza.

On the twelfth of August this year, it was reported that Mumbai Fashion Week was cancelled due to a dispute between organizers and representatives of two popular designers. Priyam Paul and Laban M.Kulkarni were supposed to present their latest designs at the annual Fashion Week event in February this year. However, the cancellation of the event was due to an argument between the two representatives. The reason cited for the cancellation was lack of time and money for promoting the shows at Fashion Week. On the other hand, the reason given by Mumbai Fashion Week organizers was that they were approached by another designer/entrepreneur who wanted to present his/her design.

Genelia D’Souza is one of the celebrities who have been mentioned or featured in various celebrity gossip magazines over the years. She was listed on the pages of various celebrity gossip magazines as one of the “Funniest Women in Hollywood” (chronicles of her escapades were published in many publications from the time she was 35). It is believed that she was in the company of other celebrities when she died. In the February 2021 issue of Time Magazine, it was reported that D’Souza was actually scheduled to face a hearing in federal court in Manhattan on the twenty-third of march. The hearing was scheduled for the second week of march; however, it was not possible to confirm whether Genelia D’Souza will appear in the court or not.
