Gayatri Joshi is a prominent Indian writer and academic who is mostly known for her biographical books on Indian politics, women and Indian women writers. She has written over twenty five books so far. She has been called “India’s first modern novelist”. Gayatri Joshi was born in 1913 in a small village called Sangli in the Eastern Ghats. Later she moved to Calcutta, where she earned a degree in journalism, before moving to New Delhi and getting a position as a journalist.

In this film she plays the character of an intelligent and strong girl who becomes a martial arts expert in order to protect her father’s business from pirates. After saving her father’s business and herself from a dangerous man she falls in love with another woman. After marrying her partner she gets a job as a nurse at a renowned institute of medicine in New Delhi. The movie ‘Neel Sagar’ was directed by Shimit Amin and released in 2021. After that role Gayatri played the lead role in ‘Arundhati’ that was based on the life of Subhas Chandra Bose who was an Indian freedom fighter and later became a leader of the Indian freedom movement.
