Fairuza Balk is an American actress, musician, and singer, best known for her role as a 16-year-old witch in the very popular movie The Craft. Her haunting brown eyes and a wry smile made her a star after the release of that movie. She has been nominated for an Academy Award and went on to receive many additional accolades for her role as the witch.

Many people doubt whether fairuza is actually a witch, but many believe that she is a witch. Fairuza Balk was born in Colombia, the third of four children of prominent Colombian actors. Her mother, Blanca de Leon, was a famous Colombia writer. According to one biographer, Fairuza was often asked by her mother in rehearsal to “come to a crossroad between human and animal,” and to “act like a real witch.”

Fairuza grew up in the Bogota province of Colombia, and like many other children of prominent Colombian writers and directors, had a deep love for the arts. Her interest in the arts may have been her strong familial influence. As an adult, Fairuza continued to perform acting, composing, and music, traveling to many countries in order to hone her craft. It is rumored that Fairuza once performed a magic trick as an “amateur magician” in front of several US President John F. Kennedy’s staffers, which may account for the young witch’s famous quote, “The dead who live amongst us will rise again.”

Fairuza attended the Catholic High School of Culinary Arts for seven years, where she excelled in Math, Language Arts, Music, Art History, Social Studies, Geography, Chemistry, and Physics. She completed a two-year diploma at the University of Culinary Arts in California, specializing in Education and Creative Writing. Then she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Education, focusing on Language Arts, and a Master of Arts in Education, concentrating in Graphic Design and Animation. In between her years of school and college, Fairuza made seven films, including an award winning feature directed by Jean-Pierre Gough.

Fairuza is most known for her role as Angelica in the animated movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. However, Fairuza was also a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, played by Aleksandra Rylance. Fairuza is also well known as Zuleida in the Spanish soap opera, La Vida or Nada, as the title character in the television series La Famosa, and as Victoria in the musical, Grease, and as Natalia in the movie, The Nutcracker.

Fairuza is not the only member of the Fairuza family who has performed in some great plays. Maria Bello, who was born in Italy, is best known for playing the wacky grandmother in the television show, Lassie. Maria Bello also appeared in the TV movie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, opposite Steve Martin, and in the musical, Aida.

Fairuza is not your typical Italian child star. She is, however, an example of how acting can benefit anyone’s life. Her parents are originally from Ivory Coast, in West Africa. This is part of the reason that Fairuza has such good acting skills, because of how the people of Ivory Coast speak English when she was growing up. When she moved to London, the people of that city did not speak English, so Fairuza must have had a very tough time adjusting.

Her parents’ home was decorated with many beautiful paintings. This helped to form the basis of Fairuza’s present day style. Many of the paintings were made with oil, a medium that was affordable back then, but which has become extremely expensive due to world demand for petroleum. Oil painting allowed Fairuza to express herself in a way that could not be achieved with charcoal or other cheaper mediums. In fact, her art style is the result of combining the best of the traditional dance forms of her native country with the forms that can be found all over the world today thanks to the invention of oil paint.

Fairuza has played many different characters in her numerous films. Most of them were played by either David Thewlis or John Bonjour. Both of these performers received rave reviews for their roles, with Thewlis receiving a nomination for an Academy Award for his role as Dr. Jekyll. Fairuza is well-known whether you are a fan of hers or David Thewlis, and she will be the ideal foil to Dr. Jekyll in the future films, perhaps even playing the same character.
