Brooke Burns was born in Rockford, Idaho in July of 1992 and grew up in Spokane, Washington. At age five her parents, Richard and Kathy Burns, took her to an outdoor play in hopes of comforting her. She would later recall that she was fascinated with all the small animals and birds that were flying around, much to the amusement of her father.

Brooke was interested in acting from a very young age and would attend many casting calls in her area. One of her early roles that would come to light was in the movie “Escape from Alcatraz” as a 16-year-old girl who escaped from a prison. After her time on the film industry, Brooke Burns pursued many different types of roles, most notably as an FBI agent in the television series “24”. She was also an active member of the sorority at Harvard University. She went on to have a brief relationship with Tom Selleck. It was these events that led her to studying acting with David Fincher whom she ultimately signed up with to write scripts for movies and television.

At the age of twenty-three, Brooke Burns was cast as herself in the award winning television series “E.T. : The Search for Superman”. The show lasted one season and was cancelled after the second season. However, the television career of Brooke Burns continued to grow when she landed a major role in the feature film “Sneakers”.

Throughout the late 1990s, Brooke Burns was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in her first turn at the prestigious award ceremonies for playing the lead character in the film “E.T. She was nominated for the same category for her role as the same girl in the second “E.T.” film.

Brooke Burns has since gone on to star in four more films and established her name in Hollywood as both a television personality and a fashion model. She currently has three books which have been made into movies; a biography on her life and times as a single mother, a memoir entitled” Brooke Burns: An American Story” and a novel titled” Brooke Burns: The Real Secret Life of a Single Mother”. Apart from this, she has also spent a significant amount of time working as a dancer on the Broadway stage. Her dancing career was therefore not limited to the small screen.

A popular and well loved actress who managed to carve out a unique career for herself in Hollywood, Brooke Burns is today loved by millions of people across the world for her roles in television, film and theatre. She is said to be the best choice for the role of Miss Piggy in the TV sitcom “Famous Mothers”. Though her acting prowess is not recognized with the same reverence it was when she first burst onto the scene, in later years, she managed to create an entirely different image for herself by dabbling in various mediums. She has had some success with her stage performances and she has been nominated for an Oscar twice; however, she refused to accept any of the awards for her role in the film “A Few Good Men” due to the fact that she felt the award ceremony to be rigged in her favor (in that the actor playing the character of Ben Caspere was married to Marilyn Manson). Today, Brooke Burns lives in Florida and enjoys a comfortable life with her children, grandchildren and ex-husband.
