The interesting part about B. V. Radha’s career is that even after she has established a name for herself in Bollywood, she has continued to work largely in low budget movies. These are films where she appears as an actress, a singer or a ball player. However, in all these films she never loses sight of her original intent of becoming an important actor and actress in Bollywood. B. V. Radha was married to J. Y. Rana, an Indian film director, before she decided to make her film debut in Hollywood. However, when Rana passed away, B. V. decided to quit school and pursue her acting career full time.

B. V. first appeared in Tamil cinema as an actress in the Tamil movie called Kaundy. Then she went on to act in other movies that have since become popular in India and abroad. She has since gone on to star in films as well as being in television serials and comedy programs that have been popular with the masses across Asia and even America. All this is not all that unusual in a B. V. Radha biographical context.

B. V. Radha’s life also includes the period during which she worked as a film director. This is something that she is very proud of, because she feels that she had come a long way since her days as a student film director. She was the chief assistant to the famous Kamal Amrohi, who was at the time the head of production at Anushka Films. B. V. had worked with Amrohi on a project called Makhamkoodam and since that time she was in touch with him every now and then. Even after she quit school to take up acting professionally, she still continued to see him.

B. V. did however miss her friend’s company and so she travelled to Malaysia one final time to meet her friend. On that visit, B. V. saw her old friend and fell in love with her. B. V. was also in touch with her former production house Anushka Films through her manager, till she got a chance to act in their movies. B. V. was one of the key figures in setting the trend in the field of Tamil cinema during the 1980s.
