Alice Faye is well known today in the world as either an artist or a singer/songwriter. She is best known for being one of the original members of The Velvet Underground. She also had a notable role in the film’s High School Confidential, Dance, and Saturday Night Fever. She is also credited with coining the word ‘fairy tale’ in her songs.
Alice Faye was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1954. She is remembered today for being one of the founding members of the Velvet Underground. She went to college for four years at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was also a member of resemble in Berkeley, California. During the early days of her career, Alice Faye lived in the Hollywood area. She frequented Studio 52, a notorious hub of Hollywood music that included such famous names as Bob Dylan, Richard Melton, John Lennon and John F. Kennedy. Alice Faye had a series of encounters with famous people in Hollywood, as was her habit. She stayed at a ranch near Beverly Hills, known as the Rancho Mirage, where she would perform and photograph by night and rest during the day.
Eventually, Alice Faye moved to New York City and performed at the Tonbridge Bar and Club under the name Aline. This stage name was chosen in honor of Alice’s grandmother, who was called Aline de Laurence. Eventually, Alice worked with jazz musicians and singer/songwriter Glen Glenn and the Beach Boys. Alice had also tried her hand at acting but failed at Broadway playwrights. Eventually, she ended up working with director Victor Fleming on some movies, most notably A Time to Kill (which she also starred in), which is still popular today.
Alice Faye finally settled into a long-time residence in Encinitas, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In this location, she became something of a celebrity, even being interviewed by numerous television news programs, including The Oprah Winfrey Show. Inevitably, the media discovered the real identity of Alice Faye, which was Rudy Vallee, a.k.a., Alice “Poo” Faye. Vallee had been Alice Faye’s former stage partner and during the course of their relationship, he had propositioned her. He had also been the husband of Alice’s sister, Phoebe.
During the course of their relationship, Alice had asked Alice to marry him and offer to pay off her family should she die. However, Vallee was not interested in purchasing the rights to the fortune that Alice was claiming and he simply wanted to be left alone. On a hot summer day, Alice decided it would be a good idea for them to go to the Tin Pan Alley area to have coffee and sandwiches. While in the restaurant, Alice noticed a man who seemed to be following them. When they reached an elevator, the stranger suddenly announced to Alice, “You’re Alice Faye!”
