Chippy’s personal life was also significant. She married Mani Sankrit in 1957. He was a prominent leader in the Malayalam weekly Daa-Ad newspaper. Chippy and Sankrit’s marriage are perhaps best reflected in Chippy’s book “Kerala’s Most Married Woman” in which she refers to their thirty-year union as the longest in the annals of Kerala. Chippy was also known to be an astute business woman, and her association with both the Indian Institute of Technology and the Indian Business Corporation helped her to attain a high degree in engineering, and pursue a successful career in international business.
