Aparajita Mohanty first appeared in the Hindi movie industry at the age of twenty-one. She made her first ever film at the age of nineteen in the movie called Aparajita. She is from the state of Tamil Nadu in India and studied at RK School in Chennai, after which she joined the Royal Institute of Management in Hampi. It was here that she started to develop her acting skills and her career started to take off.

Aparajita is popularly known as Suna through her several roles in various Hindi movies. Aparajita was born in a village called “Bandar Lampi” in Benaulim, Rajasthan, India. The name of Suna originates from the Sanskrit term, “suntan”, which literally means the golden colour. Suna’s original skin colour was dark brown but as she grew older she got lighter skin as her ancestors had brown skin too. Aparajita is popularly referred to as Suna throughout the film industry owing to her distinct yellow skin and dark brown eyes.
