She later received the same award for the third time at the International Critics’ Festival in Singapore. She was also the recipient of the Best Actor award for the same category at the Foreign Film Oscar Awards 2021. She has also won accolades at various other film festivals and ceremonies including the Golden Globes and the Satellite Awards.

It is believed that Amala Akkineni might be related to Rana Yacuna, another famous Hyderabad-based actor. However, this is yet to be confirmed. The similarities between the two are just enough to make Amala Akkineni a prominent force in Malayalam cinema. She is a fiery activist who uses her acting skills to further her causes.
